The “Creeping Devil” cactus with a mind of its own
Origin:
Native to the sandy coastal regions of Baja California, Stenocereus eruca is a truly wild-looking cactus known for its horizontal growth habit. Unlike most upright cacti, this one “creeps” along the ground—growing forward while the older end slowly dies off, giving it the name “Creeping Devil.”
Growing Conditions:
This unique cactus prefers full sun and sandy, fast-draining soil. It’s been grown in the open Arizona sun at Arid Adaptations, making it more tolerant of extreme heat and UV than greenhouse-grown plants. Perfect for collectors looking to add something truly unusual and conversation-worthy to their lineup.
Sourcing Process:
Each plant is hand-selected at Arid Adaptations Nursery for its health, shape, and vigor. We ship only well-established, sun-hardened plants that are ready to thrive in your garden or container.
Processing Time:
Processing times may be a bit longer for live plants, as we take the time to pick and package each one with extra care and attention.
Shipping Information:
Shipping is charged at a flat rate and is the customer’s responsibility. Plants are carefully wrapped and boxed to ensure they travel safely and arrive healthy.
